Printmaking Scholarship Opportunities 2017

As part of the Regional Print Centre’s commitment to artists at the early stages of their career we are offering up to 2 places on a printmaking scholarship programme ‘Proof’ starting in July until December 2017.

We are looking for FE students, Undergraduates, Graduates and Postgraduates who have an interest in printmaking and wish to develop a career in the visual arts/creative industries in Wales.

The aim of Proof is for participants to develop their individual skills and discipline in order to build a strong foundation to enable them to realise their creative potential through the medium of printmaking.

This will involve learning directly from Masters and experts in the field of contemporary printmaking and participating in Regional Print Centre activities and events (without charge) between July and December 2017. There will also be plenty of opportunities to develop your own network of contacts.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to:

  • become a Regional Print Centre Member
  • participate in the Centre’s summer printmaking workshop programme 2017
    • (6 unique workshops with a range of professional printmakers)
  • use the print studio space during open access periods
    • (Throughout July to December 2017).
  • attend the Print Symposium
    • (February 2018)

Each place on the scholarship has a value of approximately £1000.00. All fees and materials costs are covered by the Regional Print Centre. Participants are responsible for their own transport and accommodation.

Successful applicants will initially have the opportunity to use the studio during open access periods and undertake the summer workshop programme (taking place during July and August 2017).

Scholarship participants are expected to provide feedback and written diary entries/reports throughout the programme which will be used on the Regional Print Centre website to advertise the scholarship and track progress.
