In this workshop you will be able to explore the potential of this spontaneous and direct printmaking technique.
Scoring directly into an aluminium plate without the use of acid or sulphates you can make an image with line but with the addition of carborundrum grit you can also produce fluid marks , which together can make for an exciting and intriguing image. We can also experiment with colour and the adhered carborundrum on the surface of the plate can facilitate intense areas of ink in your image. This is a chemical free process and allows for a painterly quality in the final printed image.
