Electro-ysgythru ac ysgythru â sylffad halwynog gyda Don Braisby
1/2 Mehefin 2017
10:00-16:00
Bydd y gweithdy hwn yn dysgu dwy broses ysgythru y gallwch eu defnyddio gartref neu mewn ystafell ddosbarth, sef, ysgythru â sylffad halwynog ac electro-ysgythru.
Disgrifiwyd y ddwy broses yma fel ‘ysgythru diogel’ ond yn y gweithdy hwn, byddwn yn canolbwyntio are eu posibiliadau amgen ar gyfer gwneud marciau yn hytrach nag ar eu nodweddion diwenwyn. Mae Don Braisby, a fydd yn arwain y gweithdy, yn cwblhau ei draethawd doethuriaeth ar electro-ysgrythu.
Nod y gweithdy:
- Rhoi cyflwyniad syml i ddamcaniaeth ac arfer electro-ysgrythu.
- Rhoi cyflwyniad i’r offer sydd ei angen ar gyfer electro-ysgrythu a phlatio; sut i’w osod a’i ddefnyddio’n ddiogel.
- Gwneud platiau creadigol, gwrthyddion ac atalyddion.
- Paratoi ac ysgythru platiau.
Amcanion:
- Bydd y cyfranogwyr wedi cael gwybodaeth ymarferol am sylffad halwynog a gwneud proflen o un plât o leiaf gyda phob proses.
- Bydd y cyfranogwyr wedi cael gwybodaeth ymarferol am sylffad halwynog a gwneud proflen o un plât o leiaf gyda phob proses.
- Cafwyd cyflwyniad i electro-ffurfio a electro-deipio fel proses bosibl mewn cerflunwaith a gwneud printiau
- rhoi adborth i’w defnyddio mewn ymchwil
Heb fod yn aelod £120.00 / Aelodau £75.00

Saline sulphate and electro-etching with Don Braisby
1/2 June 2017
10:00-16:00
This workshop will teach two etching processes that can be used to etch at home or in a classroom situation, these are saline sulphate and electro-etching.
Both processes have been described as being ‘safe etching’ however in this workshop we will focus on their potential for alternative mark making rather than on their non-toxic credentials. Don Braisby who is teaching the workshop is completing his doctoral thesis on electro-etching.
Workshops aim:
- Provide a simple introduction to the theory and practice of electro- etching.
- Introduce the equipment needed for electro-etching and plating, how to set it up and use it safely.
- Creative plate making, resists and stop outs
- Preparation and etching of plates.
Objectives:
- Participants will have gained a working knowledge of saline sulphate and making and proofing at least one plate in each process.
- Introduced to electroforming and electrotyping as a potential process in sculpture and printmaking.
- provide feedback for use in research.
Non-members £120.00/Members £75.00
